2012 corn season in BC

2012 has produced another stressful corn season for some in BC. Thankfully we are not suffering like many of our US compatriots but a very wet, cold spring as well as a delayed summer has meant that many are looking at a less than stellar corn crop. Once again we have a lot riding on heat in September. Mother Nature is providing sun but she had also provided those cold fall nights.

Mother Nature Where’s the Sun?

Although it may seem impossible between the raindrops, we have managed to work with some farms to get our corn plots in this year. We currently have two on Vancouver Island, one in Enderby, and one in Delta. Two are outstanding: Sumas and Matsqui. Rain, rain go away. Come again….
